Behind the Scenes - Police Office

Day of Filming:

Wednesday 18th December 2013

After filming the burglars planning scene we moved into the office to film the detectives scene.

We had the great idea to change the desktop background to a picture of the metropolitan police logo.

Katie's dad already had a pinboard wall, so we just had to put up a map and 4 'CCTV' snapshots of our criminals.

We went outside of Katie's house in the dark and took pictures with the camera that we had.

We had the backs of our heads to make it seem like the characters were running away from a crime scene and the CCTV only caught blurred images of them.

It didn't take very long to film the part that we needed however we had to stop before we wanted to because it was getting very late and we all had to go home.

After school we picked up the lights and tripod from the media department and walked to Katie's house.

Story Line

It is going to be like a modern day robin hood.  They are a group of people who are planning a chain of burglaries of rich people so they can give money to the less fortunate.  The opening sequence will consist of the burglars getting ready for their first burglary and saying how it can't go wrong and they've been planning this for years.  It then goes to the police/detectives looking at maps and blueprints and they are getting ready to apprehend the burglars on their first burglaries so they don't do any more.  The next scenes are both of them driving to what seems to be the same place and you see the burglars go into this house and then the police puling up to the same house.  However, when the police go into the house, the burglars aren't there.  It then cuts to the burglars going into a safe and getting all the money and running out with it.  The last scene is the police realising they've gone to the wrong house.

Casting/Costume - Emma

Emma plays a character called Tara. Shes a burglar, she's very quiet and shy and grew up with little money.

Costume - black coat, black jeans with hair down

Casting/Costume - Katie

Katie plays a character called Haley. She is the leader of the group of burglars and is very driven and focused and wants to be the best person she can be.

Costume - balaclava, black jumper, trackies(black)

Casting Costume - Julia

 Julia plays one of the burglars in the sequence. She plays a character called Hannah Allen        aged 18 years old. Shes one of 4 sisters and works in a retail shop. Shes a good person that believes in doing the right thing. 

Costume - Buff, Black Hoodie, Black Leggings

Casting/Costume - Joei

Joei plays a detective,her characters name is Shola  she always wanted to be a detective and studied and worked hard to become one. She lives by herself and is very passionate about her work, she s a natural leader and very clever.

Costume - Joei will be wearing formal/smart clothing, a white collared tshirt, body con dress and grey blazer

Risk Assessment

Risk Assessment

Location: Katies House

There are safety risks that might be an issue during filming such as;

• Pets- Katie has a cat called Sammie that might get in the way or accidentally be trodden on (. Also if the cat feels uncomfortable or unsettled it might end up scratching one of our cast members or film crew. If one of our crew has a fur allergy we might have a high risk problem because they could need an ambulance. We will have to keep the cat in the main house during filming.

• Tools- We will be filming in Katie's Garage for the Burglar scenes and there are a lot of tools around e.g. ladders, bikes, paint, hammers, electric screwdrivers etc. We might have to move them out of the way or take care with them and put them in a corner just incase someone knocks something over or something falls on someone which would be a high risk as someone could be seriously injured, especially with high power tools.

Group Meetings

We have group meetings very often to discuss our plan and ideas for the opening sequence ; for example, working on our storyboard, scripts, coming up with production company names and title of film and many more. 

The names we came up with; we are still deciding between 'on the run' and 'one step ahead'

'PHD Production' is our chosen production name.

Our Meetings for the Planning... 

Meeting One: we discussed our ideas and did a brainstorm. We also decided on our production name and our final film title 'One Step Ahead' by voting. 

Meeting Two: in this meeting, we have worked on a rough storyboard and a rough script to get us ready for the filming.
